No update from last night as the weather hadn't changed from the entire day. I got a few shots of the high winds pushing the trees around but the weather really hadn't gotten any worse. Overnite, the winds continued, and the clouds seemed to darken a bit just before sunset. This morning brought more wind, and the first bit of rain. Up to this point, the power here has gone out a couple times, but has been back on within a minute, and the rains continue.
We went to the local fire station and got sandbags for some of the first floor tenants, so they could sand bag in front of their door and around the air conditioners, as they are so close to the ground, and the area floods normally when we get heavy rains. About 70 or so later, and we finished that up. Two teams of two each with a vehicle made this much simpler. Poor little Kia Sportage that my friend owns got maxed right out for weight (probably around 750lbs or so in the trunk) but like a good little soldier it transported everything we needed without requiring multiple trips (well multiple trips in the respect of only fitting small amounts of bags in), other than we did two trips as we determined we didn't have enough bags to set up the bags the way we wanted. A good friend of mine is US Military reserve, and he was enjoying setting up the bags to military standards.. We are already planning on making a foxhole/bunker with the sandbags once the storm has passed over.
So, without further adieu, here is the new slideshow, with the images now in chronological order so you can see the changes in the weather since the warnings have been issued.
